20th April 2014

What an incredibly busy time at KirstysKkids. So many events are planned this year, so we hope to continue raising the cash required to keep helping the kids well into 2015.

What an amazing chap Paul Gallagher is. Such an incredible feet of endurance walking with Eeyore, for such a long way from Fort William to Bridge of Orchy non stop. What a guy. Get well soon Paul. A brave record attempt.

The Maybole Crew are collecting like mad for the Charity shop. This takes an incredible amount of organising. Huge thanks to Angela Smith and Mamie, for the year long hard work to make this one of the biggest fundraising events of our calendar.

The Motor bike dealerships are holding events for us again this year, more details coming soon.

Do we need this cash? Wes we do. With no outside funding, every penny counts, the more we can raise the better the response. So please keep donating.

Special thanks to the Blue Knights for the continued support in helping Eeyore on his solo world tour. Eeyore was in Weston Supermare today at a teddy bears picnic and raised £25.00.

Thanks to Paul's walk my bucket was all the better to the tune of £143.27 pounds, by the time I made my way home. Thanks to the Kingshouse for donating a wonderful hot meal which set me up.

Eeyore continues to make his way round the UK, meeting kids across the counties and spreading word Kirstyskids.org to school children. Thanks to the Chapters of Blue Knights for this invaluable support. It is so desperately needed.

We have been invited to Glen Nevis to the "Wild Lochaber Festival" on 23rd and 24th May

The National Carpet Cleaners Carnival takes place at Wicksteed park. We will be there in August.

The Glenuig Team are holding a fundraising event in September.

We hope to be at the Royal Highland Show.

There is a Blue Knights BBQ weekend in, August, in aid of Kirsty's Kids.

In two weeks time we have the annual BUSA bikers gathering. Bikers come from all over the UK to Trust House to support us for a fun bikers bash.

There are so many more things happening: Mark Taylor is going to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats, no B&B or fancy stop overs for Mark. He's roughing it Kirsty's Kids fundraising style, so every penny goes to the kids not on the trip. He has a twist to boot, mark will be doing this dressed as Eeyore! Now that's going to hurt. A gruelling endurance challenge to add to the others which have gone before. Such as Nicks Iron man Triathlon. The Ben Nevis bike carry world first. Paul's walk.

All I can say is the kids are so grateful to everyone for keeping this charity a no overheads, 100% to the kids Trust. You are all doing an amazing job.

Kirsty's Kids is not an organisation with paid staff. We are a growing group of friends who keep working across the world for the benefit of our children. We are showing we don't need huge wages to make a difference. In fact no one who does anything for Kirsty's Kids will profit from the misfortunes of the worlds children.

This month after some issues, we feel it is inappropriate for organisations to charge Kirsty's Kids children to walk on their floors or sit in their chair lifts. We are appealing for Exhibition Centres to allow our children to walk on their floor free. We don't wish donations or to cause the Exhibitions to make a loss. Just please let our kids walk on your floor or swim in your swimming pools free. These kids, often with short life expectancy and life limiting illnesses, really need your support. When we pay for the chair lifts or exhibitions it takes away much needed cash, which could be spent on providing clothes nappies or food.

A massive thanks to Oban Sea Life Centre who embraced this ethos and allowed our kids free entry and who took such an active part in helping the kids behind the scenes. We love you all.

Also to the Drumnadrochit Nessie Centre. You guys rock. Thanks for always looking after our kids and not charging them.

We don't need to make a profit from the misfortunes of our children.

Any other exhibition centre or even the Ski Centres who could offer this we would be so grateful, otherwise it's just too expensive. The kids would appreciate your help.

Further updates to follow. have a wonderful Easter Weekend and Bank Holiday from all the volunteers. God Bless and take care.

John C Bryden.
